Students in Ms. Keyser's 5th grade class did a cause-and-effect activity in Reading using a passage about the history of Hershey Kisses. To celebrate our Reading, we also got to eat Hershey kisses!

5th grade ACE students are currently in the progress of building toothpick bridges. As a part of a unit on engineering, students formed their own construction companies to act as architects, accountants, and carpenters. They had to design a bridge, buy supplies, and then construct it. Students will test the strength of their bridges in a culminating competition with their classmates to see whose can hold the most weight!

Congrats to all of the spellers at the Culpeper County Spelling Bee! Our three spellers represented us well and we are so proud of them!
Students in Mrs. Sisk's 3rd grade class learned about simple machines and worked in a small group to create their own!

Ms. Green's 2nd graders learned about fractions of a set using Skittles! Students sorted their Skittles, then wrote fractions based on their set!

Mrs. Houser's class read the book "Just a Minute!" by Teddy Slater. The students participated in different activities for a minute each. They were excited to see how many times they could do each activity within a minute (writing their name, jumping jacks, leg lifts, etc.) We look forward to learning to tell time and incorporating more exercise into our lessons.
Mrs. Sawicki’s third grade class enjoyed coding with Scratch Jr.

What would you do if you were trapped in a snow globe? Miss Kall’s 4th grade reading class created their snow globes and wrote a story about how they were trapped!

Mrs. Gray's 5th grade class enjoyed teambuilding and making gingerbread houses together!

Mrs. Sawicki's third grade class made the best of the rain by enjoying some indoor recess fun!

Ms. Epstein’s second graders are learning about fractions of a whole by choosing their own Pokémon and creating their own fractions.

Ms. Gurish’s first graders take turns teaching the calendar. They tell the days of the week. They tell the date. They tell how many days we have been in school and figure out the place value for the number. They practice counting by two’s, five’s, ten’s and backwards from 30.

Mrs. Dodd's kindergarten class is getting festive by making part-part-whole pom-pom trees. The students were given 20 pom-poms and had to select pom-poms of each color to make 10 ornaments. They also practiced this using M&Ms on icing trees. We're having fun practicing math while getting ready for the holidays!

Last Thursday, Ms. Bailey and Ms. Amandas classes got a visit from a special visitor during their Christmas brunch! Students enjoyed sitting on Santa’s lap and showing him all around the classroom!

Congrats to Mrs. Sublett, Mrs. Carlton and Ms. Guinn on their winning ugly Christmas sweaters!
