Today, Mrs. Ortman visited Ms. Bateman’s class to teach students how to care for their Chromebooks, log in, and navigate the screen. They practiced using the touchscreen, found the student start page, and put their new skills to work by playing a game!

🍎 Apple Taste Testing & Caramel Dip! 🍏

First graders in Mrs. Houser’s and Ms. Van Pelt’s classes recently tasted red, green, and yellow apples. Students graphed their results to determine each class’s favorite—and yellow apples took the top spot in both classes! 💛📊

On Friday, students followed a recipe to make delicious caramel apple dip. After helping prepare the dip, they enjoyed it with fresh apple slices! Students also practiced sequencing by putting the recipe pictures in order to take home and share with their families. 🍎🥣

What a sweet way to combine math, reading, and hands-on learning! 🐯🧡🖤

⚖️ Third Grade Takes the Stand! ⚖️

Today, our third graders celebrated Constitution Day by participating in a nationwide virtual Mock Trial! 👩‍⚖️👨‍⚖️ Pictured is Mrs. Hartle's class.

Students learned about the three branches of government before taking on an important role as jurors in a live mock trial. After hearing the facts of the case, our third graders put on their thinking caps, discussed the evidence, and worked together to reach a verdict! 🧑‍⚖️📚

We loved seeing our students practice critical thinking, collaboration, and civic responsibility while learning more about how our government and judicial system work.

What an amazing way to bring civics to life! 🇺🇸🐯
