Ms. Epstein’s second graders are learning about fractions of a whole by choosing their own Pokémon and creating their own fractions.
Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all CCPS activities scheduled for Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7, 2024 are canceled.
Friday night activities will continue as scheduled.
Ms. Gurish’s first graders take turns teaching the calendar. They tell the days of the week. They tell the date. They tell how many days we have been in school and figure out the place value for the number. They practice counting by two’s, five’s, ten’s and backwards from 30.
Mrs. Dodd's kindergarten class is getting festive by making part-part-whole pom-pom trees. The students were given 20 pom-poms and had to select pom-poms of each color to make 10 ornaments. They also practiced this using M&Ms on icing trees. We're having fun practicing math while getting ready for the holidays!
Last Thursday, Ms. Bailey and Ms. Amandas classes got a visit from a special visitor during their Christmas brunch! Students enjoyed sitting on Santa’s lap and showing him all around the classroom!

Mrs. Burke's preschoolers had a visit from Santa! Some of the students asked for a chicken for Christmas! Students also enjoyed some sunshine on the playground!
Ms. Cook's newcomers to kindergarten are learning the names of different foods and how to "follow recipes."
Mrs. Davis's 5th grade reading class enjoyed making paper ornaments! Students will be making several crafts this week that go along with the reading selections they are discussing in class recently, involving some traditions of the season!
This weekend our 4th and 5th grade Leaders of the Pack helped the Culpeper Renaissance support their Santa event at Seven on Davis.

Mrs. Corbin's first grade class enjoyed writing letters to Santa. They have been mighty good this year and are anxious to see what Santa brings.
Student's in Ms. Bateman's Kindergarten class have been practicing ordering rectangles in size from largest to smallest to make a Christmas tree.
As the holiday season is upon us, Mrs. Bodekor's class is getting ready to travel the world to discover how countries around the world celebrate the holidays and learn about different cultures through reading, math and "travel"
Mrs. Huemoeller's 4th Graders have been working on r-controlled vowels by playing Dots and Boxes.
Ms. Keyser's 5th grade class did an experiment called 'Dragon Racers' to determine which surfaces create the most friction to go along with our Force and Motion unit. Students created dragons then used a marble to push the dragon on carpet, tile, wood, and cement!

Miss Kall’s fourth graders have been working on multiplying numbers with two digits. Today they reviewed their multiplication skills with a friendly competition on Quizizz!
